Courses and Training
Learn the art and science of travel by canoe.  Participants will gain the planning, camping and safety skills necessary for multi-day canoe trips and the environmental knowledge to travel efficiently into wilderness settings. 
Introduction Canoe Tripping will expose participants to practical skills such as travelling by canoe, sleeping in tents, cooking on open fires, axe and saw use and tarp set up.  Important theory items such as trip planning, menu selection, navigation, weather interpretation, judgment, decision making and group selection/management will be put into practice over the course of a three day wilderness trip.

Participants will develop expedition behaviour and valuable life skills such as self-reliance and leadership.

Suitable pond, lake and,or river system.

Three days

Paddle Canada Intermediate Lake Tandem. Good swimming ability and wilderness first aid certification strongly recommended.

Meals, group camping gear (tarp/stoves/pots/plates/utensils/axe/saw) course reference material, Paddle Canada certification (if successful).  Excludes: canoes and paddling equipment, personal equipment, transportation or meals.  Equipment rental available – limited quantites
